African Locust Game
Sadly, Namibia in south Africa is well known for its locust swarms with African migratory and red locusts regularly invading devastating crops and irrigation systems severely impacting on the wellbeing of already impoverished rural communities. When the locusts arrive (and even a medium size swarm has about a thousand million locusts) they devour crops like mahangu almost
instantaneously and worse, lay their eggs so that more swarms
appear as the eggs hatch in just ten to twenty days with each
female laying around 50 eggs at a time.
In this African locust
game you are a villager in a Namibian village and have to escape
the swarm. Full instructions on how to play are contained on
screen. |
