Somali Pirate Game

There may be some who will be surprised to see the Somali pirate game in our Africa games collection, but it serves as a reminder that Africa is not just a continent of great beauty and enormous challenges, it has very dangerous areas such as Somalia, which has almost become a pirate state. Most people when they think of Somali think of pirate hijackings of boats off the coastline. However, whilst this is true, many do no realise the background to this activity for the 'west' has allegedly been dumping toxic waste into the ocean around Somalia damaging and corrupting the one thing the Somali people need for trade and food - their fish stocks. Many Somali children are now sick and dying because of this ongoing abuse of the sea and many of the so called 'pirates' carry out their activities to try and draw attention to a foreign state endorsed crime that is effectively killing off the country.
